| Obituary - Dewey R. Beard - Dewey R. Beard, 60, of Greenville, Pennsylvania, died in Veteran's Hospital in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, August 30, 1958 of a heart attack following a long illness. Mr. Beard was an accountant, a member of the Presbyterian Lodge, and the Moose Lodge. He was born at Green Bank on March 23, 1838, then son of the late Leslie and Ruby Ralston Beard. Surviving him are his wife, Katherine Fisher Beard; two sons, Donald R. Beard of Decatur, Georgia, and Dr. Arthur P. Beard of Schenectady, New York; six grandchildren; one brother; and seven sisters Mrs. Bertie McLaughlin of Follansbee, Mrs. Halle Nottingham of Greenville, Mrs. Mildred H. Armstrong of Charlestown, Mrs. Wawa Gilmore and Mrs. Josephine Myers of Durbin, Mrs. Jeanne Irons of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Mrs. Bonnie Brooks of Marlinton. A sister, Mrs. Lillian Kerr and a brother, Leslie Beard, Jr., preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in Durbin at the home of his sister, Mrs.. Robert Gilmore by the Rev. Phillip Newell, with burial in the Arbovale Cemetery. |
