Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, formerly of Golfview Manor,
Meadville Pennsylvania, died Sunday September 14, 2003 at Wesbury.
Born in Green Bank June 17, 1915, he was the son of Isaac Taylor and Claudia
Galford Sheets. He married Wilma Beard, of Durbin, on June 1, 1937.
They divorced in 1959, and on March 11, 1962, he married Genevieve Stoner,
of Fessenden, North Dakota, who preceded him in death on May 2, 1989.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son
Richard; two brothers, Cecil and Layke; two sisters, Stella Shorts and
Juanita Sheldon. He is survived by one brother, Ernest, of Cambridge
Springs, Pennsylvania, and one sister, Elsie Setta, of Saegertown,
Pennsylvania. He is also survived by two stepdaughters, Pamela Cronkrite, of
Sedro Wooley, Washington, and Kathie Weatherby, of Redwood City, California,
and four step grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II
aboard the USS Eastland in the Pacific theater. After his Navy tour he was
the probation and parole officer for the State of West Virginia until his
appointment as Special Agent of the FBI on January 7, 1952, from which he
retired July 16, 1974. He worked on several high profile cases, including
Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King assassination investigations.
After retirement, he enjoyed the game of golf. A memorial service will be
held later at the convenience of the family. |
