Eda L. Beard, age 97, a resident of Pocahontas Center, died Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at the Center.  The daughter of the late Forrest L. Beard, Sr., and Mary Rachel Clark, she was born in Mingo County September 22, 1905.   She was a Presbyterian.  A brother, Forrest L. Beard, of Lewisburg, survives.   Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Laura and Mary; and six brothers, Luther Beard, Ryce Beard, Warren Beard, Clarence Beard, Clara Beard, and Sterret Beard.   Graveside services were held in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Hillsboro by the Rev. Lucy Youngblood.
