The writer of this appreciation was her pastor for several years and learned to admire her sterling character and gentle ways. Fannie was a devoted Christian woman and loyal to her Lord and Savior to the end of her life. Her nature was so amiable and kindly her disposition so tranquil that she drew friends to her wherever she went and all who knew her were impressed with the evident work of God's grace in her heart and life. The circle of life which Mrs. Callison adored most signally was of the home. She found her real in ministering to husband and children and in making a home, the happy memory of which will be undeniably impressed upon her sons as long as they live. In the writer's opinion she thus chose woman's highest sphere of service to society - the home and the family. To have borne and reared such a set of boys as she sent into the active walks of life to take their places in business and the church, was an achievement which any wife and mother might be proud of accomplishing.

An Appreciation : this appreciation of a most excellent wife and mother who was taken from her family, friends, and community several months ago has been contemplated for sometime, but owning to unusual circumstances has been delayed in preparation. The write, who was her former pastor, regrets that so long a time has elapsed since he purposed to give this personal estimate and appreciation of her worth to the general public. Mrs. Fannie Beard Callison was born in Pocahontas county October 13, 1859, and was thus at the time of her death on December 10, 1927 sixty-eight years of age. On October 26, 1887, she was united in marriage with Mr. Richard Callison of Trump Run Farm. To this union were born the following sons, all of whom survive her, save one, Henry Geuel who died in 1911, D.M of Beard, J.W. of Millburn, E.B. of Beard, G.S. of Marlinton, and O. G. Callison of Finlow. On October 1878, Mrs. Callison united with Oak Grove Presbyterian church under the pastorate of Dr. D. M. Syndenstricker and remained in that communion until her removal to Lewisburg. In 1941 when she was united with the M. E. C. S with her family. The writer of this appreciation was thus her pastor for several years and learned to admire her sterling character and gentle ways. The funeral took place in the beautiful home provided for her comfort, but which she did not long live to enjoy, conducted by her present pastor Rev. Mr. Harrison, assisted by her former pastor Rev. J. C. Johnson. But what are earthly homes, however fitted, compared to the building of God, the house not the made with hands eternal in the ?? which Jesus had gone to make ready for her and into which He will gladly welcome here.
