- Ryce S. Beard died July 11, 1957, in the Hopemont Sanitarium after
a long illness. He was born January 11, 1901, a son of the late
Forrest and Rachel Clark Beard. He is survived by his wife, Odell Ware
Beard and six children, Carl of Perry Point, Maryland; Edward of the US
Army; Arnold, Richard, Lillian and Howard. Also surviving are three
sisters; Mrs. Laura Weiford, of Parkersburg, Mrs. Clara King, of East Port,
Maryland, and Eda Beard of Charleston; and three brothers; Luther of East
Port, Clarence and Forrest of Hillsboro. Funeral services were held on
July 13 at the E. U. B. Church at Junior, with interment in the Trinity
Cemetery. |
| Beard
Rites are held on Saturday - Funeral Services for Ryce S. Beard, 56,
of Junior, who died last Thursday at Hope Mont, were held Saturday Afternoon
at 2 o'clock from the E. U. B. Church at Junior. The Rev. Lester
Groves officiated, with interment by the New Runner Funeral Home in Trinity
Cemetery near Junior. The church choir sang "Abide with Me,", "Safe in
the Arms of Jesus" and "Face to Face". The active pall bearers
were : Garland Clark Foy, Burton Steerman, Brewer Steerman, Boyd Thorn, Omer
Ware and Martin Moore. Honorary pall bearers were: Winnie Foy, Ilona
Steerman, Peggy Yeager, Glorai Talbott, Sandra Harris, Carolyn Ware,
Charlotte Mace, June Swick, and Donna Steerman. Attending the services
from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Beard and Forrest Beard
of Hillsboro; Mrs. Ada Emond of Star City; Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Robey of Mt.
Morris; Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Swick and Miss Norma Swick of Arthurdale; Mr. and
Mrs. Warren Swick and family of West Chester, Pa., and Mrs. Ellsie Currence
and daughter, of Elkins. |
