http://www.pocahontastimes.com/obin1208.htm Samuel Bright Callison, age 75, of Arlington, Virginia, died Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at Sleepy Hollow Manor Nursing Home following a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. The son of Elba Bright Callison and Elizabeth Jane Smith Callison, he was born at Beard April 5, 1930. He attended public schools in Pocahontas County and then Roanoke Business College. After serving three years in the United States Army Security Agency, he attended Berea College in Berea, Kentucky and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Concord College in Athens. Moving to Washington, D.C., in 1958 and then to Arlington in 1959, he had a 30-year career working as a supervisory auditor for the U.S. General Accounting Office. On September 2, 1949, he married Mary
Catherine Rexrode, and from this union three children were born:
Mary Jane Callison, who died in infancy, Linda Sue Alexander and
Elizabeth Ann Bridcott. |
