| Mrs. Margie Yeager Beard Arbogast was born on March 25, 1886, and departed this life on February 28, 1951,; aged 65 years, 11 months and 3 days. She was united in marriage to Walter Aldine Arbogast on April 19, 1905, and to this union were born five children, who with their father survive her. They are : Ralph Monroe Arbogast, Dick Yeager Arbogast, Opal Elizabeth Arbogast, and Bertie Marie Kramer, all of Mill Point. The deceased was a daughter of the late Josiah Osborne Beard and Eveline Yeager Beard, both of whom were members of the pioneer families of Greenbrier and Pocahontas Counties. She was one of thirteen children all of whom proceeded her in death with the exception of two sisters; Mrs. Don Harper of Elkins and one brother. B. B. Beard of Bartow. Her twin brother, Samuel Monroe Beard, preceded her in death only three months. She joined the church at an early age and was active throughout her life time in church work, having been Superintendent of the Marvin Chapel Church of 20 years and along with her mother, organized the Ladies Aid Society of that church some 25 years ago. Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon from the Marvin Chapel by her pastor, Rev. T. E. Painter, assisted by Rev. Drury L. Jones and Rev. A. J. Schader; after which the body was laid to rest in the Arbovale Cemetery. The pall bearers were: Burrell Arbogast, Charles A. Kramer, Ward Wenger, Otis E. Webb. Neil Arbogast, and Dorr Beard. Flower girls were the members of the Marvin Chapel Ladies Society and the Hillsboro Chapter of the order of the Easter Star to which she belonged. Thus is noted the passing of a lovely lady -- outstanding in service at home, in the community, and in the church. |

In Memoriam
- In memory of my mother, Margie Beard Arbogast and my brother,
Dick Arbogast. As your birthday draws near, Mother, I feel you are not alone anymore, Because Dick has gone to join you, Over there on the Golden Shore. Did you hear him coming Mother, When he slipped through the gate? Were you there to greet him, Tho' the hour of night was late? Did you call out to him, Mother, "Son, I am over here. Put your hand in the Savior's, You have naught to fear?" Did you smile and beckon, Mother, And call a glad hello? Can you both see our sorry, When you look down below? He left us so quickly, Mother, We didn't get to say goodbye, But he looked so rested and peaceful, I feel bad to mourn and cry. Will you tell him how we miss him, his footsteps, his voice and sweet smile; Our lives will never be the same, as we walk it mile by mile? Has DIck told you Mother, That we miss you so much; These six years have been lonely, Without your loving face and touch? Will you both watch together, Until the gate opens for me, Then softly call my name, I'll be listening to hear you say "Marie". Marie Arbogast Kramer, Millpoint, W. Va. Ed Note : this must have been written about 1957. Bertie Marie Arbogast Kramer passed away on 19 Mar 2004, the gates open and angels singing loudly.. |
